Mythbuster on Apple design

Jamie Hyneman, one member of the Mythbusters duo, had this to say about the Apple iPhone and its “smart design”:

“The iPhone is a good example [of great UI design]. To combine several machines into a pocket-size device, Apple did away with almost all the buttons in favor of a touchscreen that can be reconfigured for each new application. Personally, I have no use for anything fancier than a basic cellphone, but the iPhone is smart technology. “

These guys (the Mythbusters) are smart guys. This is one of my favorite shows. Their job is to prove what works and what does not. Clearly, they know.

Wow. Apple continues to lead the industry, while all other try and catch up. We can look forward to attempts at iPhone and MacBook Air copies for about the next 3 years. Of course, by then, Apple will have blown us all away again.

Gnocchi. I love this stuff. It’s one of the easiest Italian dishes to both, 1. prepare and 2. pronounce. At least for most people. NYÓ-kee. Not “knock-ee”, “notchy”, or any other “dumbitization” (yes I just made that up).

Well, we’re settling in now. Had a full house for Turkey Day and , while still a bit of a mess, we’re making our new house a warm, comfortable home. Shelby loves it.

Further proof that people just can’t drive. Just because you have that new Ford Behemoth with 9 wheel drive, does not meean you will stick like glue to ice and snow. I don’t feel bad at all that these people crashed (3 out of 4 SUV’s). They were probably driving like morons.
